Grounds Maintenance Contract Manager

Established Facilities Management organisation seeks an enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced Grounds Maintenance contract manager with previous knowledge and experience within this field to support our Head of grounds and landscaping. Applications from existing Grounds Maintenance Supervisors / Team Leaders with previous knowledge and management experience within this field are encouraged. Grounds Maintenance Contract Manager is offered as a permanent contract with competitive salary, company, benefits, vehicles + immediate start available.

 

Grounds Maintenance contracts manager duties would include:

  • The Day-to-day man management of the ground’s teams
  • You will be required to operate machinery, including hedge cutters, mowers and various hand tools as and when needed.
  • Operate equipment in accordance with experience and training and showing other team members how to use the tools correctly.
  • Conduct basic practical training and mentoring sessions with new and existing staff members.
  • Effectively manage performance and promptly raise shortcomings with the head of grounds and landscaping.
  • Ensure Health and Safety compliance at all times.
  • Ensure work instructions / schedules are issued to staff and to verify completion of works.
  • Assist with the delivery of ad-hoc works on a practical level upon the instruction of your line manager
  • To carry out joint inspections with client in absence of the head of grounds and landscaping and identify and additional works. Initial measure and quantify additional works.
  • Ensure work schedules are carried out as instructed.
  • Undertake any training required to carry out duties.
  • To report promptly and accurately on all activities to the head of grounds and landscaping.
  • To attend if required meetings with clients

Skills required as a Grounds Maintenance contracts Manager:

Previous experience within a similar role (desirable)

  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • Highly organised and pro-active
  • Accomplished Team Leader/Manager
  • Clear understanding of customer service guidelines/principles
  • IT Proficient
  • Able to lead and inspire a team of operatives, whilst promoting our company values and standards.
  • PA1 and PA6 qualifications are highly (desirable).
  • Full Clean UK Driving Licence (company vehicle provided – will need to meet insurance requirements)

 

Location: Oxfordshire

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week - Mon to Fri 7am – 3:30pm (work times will vary – flexibility required)

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 p.a.

Company Benefits: 25 days Holiday plus Bank Holidays, Pension, Vehicle and Fuel Card, SSP
