Production Engineer

Award winning manufacturing organisation, based in Warwickshire, requires an experienced Production Engineer to join their long established team.  Acting as liaison between Design and Production teams, this role requires an innovative, progressive individual with a strong engineering background, Solidworks knowledge, Production Planning experience, problem solving abilities and excellent communication skills.

  • Communicating design projects to production teams
  • Managing engineering design requests, facilitating amendments using Solidworks
  • Translating design ready for publishing with online spare parts system
  • Validating BoMs, obtaining materials and equipment required
  • Liaising with engineers to develop plans to improve production, costs, and labour required
  • Diagnosing problems in the production line and providing recommendations and training
  • Analysing all facets of production and making recommendations for improvement
  • Supervising the manufacturing processes, ensuring quality work is done in a safe, efficient manner
  • Establishing safety procedures and protocols that take the workers' well-being into account, and minimize the carbon footprint
  • Keeping abreast of advancements in engineering and production, and sharing knowledge with co-workers
  • Scheduling meetings with relevant departments and stakeholders
  • Plan effectively to ensure projects are delivered on time, to standard and to budget.

Production Engineer skills and attributes required:

  • Industry relevant discipline
  • Experience with Solidworks CAD software
  • Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel
  • Proven experience in the engineering field
  • Awareness of Lean Manufacturing principles and processes
  • Superb analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure
  • Great attention to detail and organisational skills

Hours of Work:  Mon to Thurs 8 am to 5 pm, Fri 8 am to 1 pm (39 hours weekly)

Salary:  £25,000 p.a. to £30,000 p.a. dependent upon experience
