Toolroom Supervisor

Toolroom Supervisor required to join an established successful Sheet Metal Engineering company. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual with previous experience within the same or similar role.  Successful candidates for the role of Toolroom Supervisor must have extensive Manufacturing and Engineering background. Offered as a permanent contract with competitive salary and immediate start available.

Toolroom Supervisor duties include:

  • Take Part in Design/Manufacture of Press Tooling for either Prototype/Production components
  • Working within specific budgets to manufacturer Tooling
  • Manage day to day production and ensure efficient planning
  • Maintain 5S/Lean Environment within the department
  • Ensure on time operations of the machine programs, tools and specific equipment
  • Negotiate with customer any engineering and/or component change and any financial implications
  • Write, check, validate, implement and ensure that working instructions are followed
  • Communicate on time known information to other departments
  • Carry out Purchase control on all purchases made.
  • Carry out work duties according to quality and environmental, H&S policy
  • Ensure machine Health and Safety checks on a daily basis
  • Arrange overtime work for employees on the section
  • Undertake any other duties that may be required in line with company objectives
  • Report any non-conformances to the General Manager/Quality team

Experience, skills and qualities required for a Toolroom Supervisor:

  • Engineering & Manufacturing background – Essential
  • CAD/CAM Experience – Essential
  • CNC Machine Setting
  • Manual Lathe Experience
  • Good computer skills
  • Read and understand Engineering drawings
  • Able to work with different materials (Tool Steel/mild Steel/ Aluminium /Cast Iron/ Brass


Location: Birmingham

Hours of work: Monday - Thursday 07:00-16:00 Friday - 07:00-14:00 - 39.25 hours per week

Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 p.a.
