Leading precision engineering organisation requires an experienced CNC Setter to join their long-established team in Redditch. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting Horizontal & Vertical CNC Milling and a variety of multi spindle CNC Turning machines to produce high-quality parts and components. Offered as a Permanent contract, with competitive pay rate based on experience. 

Previous experience in setting and adjusting CNC Vertical / Horizontal Milling & CNC Turning machines is essential to fulfil the position of CNC Setter. Within this role you will be offered overtime, free car parking and company pension. 

CNC Setter duties will include:

  • Online Program, set up of 3 and 4 axis (X Y Z & A) milling machines to produce high-quality components to precise specifications
  • Online Program, set up, variety of FANUC CNC Turning machines to produce high-quality components to precise specifications
  • Understand technical drawings to ensure accurate production (Drawings are simplified and produced in-house for ease of set-up)
  • Set up job as per internal Setting sheet for each job
  • Monitor production processes to ensure that they meet quality standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machines and production processes
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming using FANUC controls
  • Mechanical set up and operation of a CNC vertical & horizontal milling machines for small batch runs (different parts)
  • Measurement of machined parts and adjustment of offsets to ensure the accuracy of the finished components
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations

Skills/Attributes required by CNC Setter:

  • Previous experience within a similar role within the machining industry (essential)
  • Understanding of IATF 16949/ISO 9001 and its contribution to the business to help to achieve objectives
  • Must be highly motivated, striving to achieve set targets in a timely manner
  • Problem solving and tool improvement
  • Attention to detail
  • Be organised and have the ability to prioritise and multi-task
  • Be able to communicate effectively to own team and other departments

Location: Redditch, Worcestershire
Hours: Monday to Friday – Shift patterns available include rotation (06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00) or a standard day shift with an early Friday finish
Salary: £16 per hour, (plus shift allowance on rotation)
