Manufacturing Engineer
A world leading UK manufacturer of Heat Exchangers is currently seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer with expertise in product development and CNC machining to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual with a strong background in manufacturing processes, tooling and efficiency optimisation. The role of Manufacturing Engineer is hands-on, ideal for someone with a deep understanding of fabrication, assembly and engineering methodologies, alongside a keen ability to analyse and refine workflows.
The successful candidate for Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in developing and improving manufacturing processes, ensuring product quality and driving operational efficiency. Offered as a permanent contract with pension and immediate start available, it is well-suited to an individual with strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities and a passion for continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities of Manufacturing Engineer:
- Evaluate and develop manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research, applying expertise in product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling and materials, while collaborating with equipment suppliers
- Enhance manufacturing efficiency through workflow analysis, space optimisation and equipment layout planning
- Ensure product and process quality by designing testing methods, verifying finished-product capabilities, establishing standards, confirming manufacturing processes and compiling SOPs/process flow charts
- Analyse product and process trends using quality and efficiency data to drive improvements in throughput and cost management
- Provide technical expertise in manufacturing engineering to support departmental initiatives and decision-making
- Maintain regulatory compliance by adhering to government standards, ensuring product integrity
- Oversee equipment maintenance by coordinating repairs, following manufacturer guidelines and initiating service requests as needed
- Lead development projects by training and mentoring staff to enhance team capabilities
- Contribute to organisational success by collaborating across teams and accomplishing business objectives
Skills and attributes required by Manufacturing Engineer:
- CNC machining, including Fanuc and Siemens operation, programming, tooling selection and fixture design
- Problem-solving in manufacturing, improving efficiency and product quality
- Expertise in manufacturing methods, optimising workflow and resources
- Product development, from design to production
- Technical communication, conveying complex information effectively
- Assembly drawings and GD&T interpretation, ensuring precision in fabrication
Location: Redditch, Worcestershire
Hours of Work: Mon to Thurs 07:15 to 16:15, Fri 07.15 – 12.15 / 39 hours per week
Salary: Circa £35,000 – £39,000 – dependent upon experience
