Sales Manager
Exciting opportunity has arisen to join a well-established, leading automotive manufacturer as Sales Manager. This role requires exceptional communication, negotiation and leadership skills, along with the ability to navigate complex sales cycles. As Sales Manager, you will be responsible for building and leading a brand-new sales team from the ground up. You will collaborate closely with multiple internal departments and provide regular reports to the board at monthly meetings, playing a pivotal role in shaping the company’s long-term commercial objectives.
Successful candidate for the position of Sales Manager will be strategic, results driven with excellent communication, negotiation and leadership skills. A strong existing network within the automotive industry and proven experience in successfully launching new products to market are essential. Sales Manager duties include:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets
- Build a high-performing sales team from scratch, including recruitment, onboarding and training
- Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, setting clear objectives and conducting regular performance evaluations
- Identify new business opportunities within the automotive market to expand customer base
- Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with product development, marketing and operations teams to align products and services with market needs
- Analyse market data, competitor activity and industry trends to inform sales strategies
- Prepare and present monthly sales reports, forecasts and budgets to the board, offering insights and recommendations
- Represent the company at trade events, conferences and other networking opportunities to raise brand awareness
Successful candidates for the role of Sales Manager require the following:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business, Marketing or a related field
- Proven experience (5+ years) in sales management – ideally in automotive/manufacturing
- Demonstratable success in building and managing a sales team, including recruitment and training
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to utilise data to inform strategy and decision-making
- Proficiency in CRM software and modern sales technologies
- Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel for client meetings/industry events
Location: Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire
Hours of Work: 39 hours per week
Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 – dependent upon experience
