Medical Device Manufacturer seeks a highly skilled and experienced Toolmaker to support the maintenance and optimisation of fine blanking progression tools, used in the manufacture of precision components for prick allergy needle assemblies. The successful candidate for the role of Toolmaker will be required to work with extremely thin stainless-steel materials (0.006" thickness) and consistently achieve exceptionally tight tolerances in a regulated production environment.

Key Responsibilities of Toolmaker:

  • Conduct maintenance, repair, and optimisation of small fine blanking progression tools to ensure continued operational accuracy and productivity
  • Perform regrinding, rebuilding, and refurbishment of tooling to meet specified standards
  • Diagnose tooling performance issues and implement appropriate corrective measures
  • Operate and maintain a comprehensive range of toolroom machinery, including but not limited to lathes, mills, grinders, and surface finishing equipment
  • Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements
  • Ensure precision workmanship and adherence to strict dimensional tolerances at all times
  • Support production teams by providing technical expertise related to tooling condition and performance

Skills and Experience Required by Toolmaker:

  • Demonstrated experience in toolmaking, preferably within a fine blanking, precision stamping, or similarly specialised environment
  • Proficiency in regrinding, rebuilding, and maintaining complex tooling systems
  • Full competence with standard toolroom machinery and associated equipment
  • Proven ability to work to very tight tolerances and produce high-quality, accurate components
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous approach to workmanship
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation
  • Strong commitment to quality, safety, and procedural compliance

Location: Redditch, Worcestershire

Hours of Work:  Mon-Thurs 7 am to 4.30 pm, Fri 7 am to 11 am

Salary:  Negotiable dependent upon experience

Contract: Permanent
