Experienced Toolmaker required to join a dynamic and growing manufacturing company with a strong future secured through long‑term customer contracts. As a leading producer of high‑quality springs and pressings for a diverse range of industries, the company operates to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 standards and is now expanding its toolroom due to increased tooling demand.

The successful Toolmaker will work on progression press tools and multislide tooling, supporting the manufacture, maintenance and development of precision tooling used in high‑volume production. This is a hands‑on role within a highly valued team, requiring a self‑motivated individual capable of working across multiple machines. Duties of Toolmaker:

  • Manufacture, repair and maintain progression press tools and multislide tooling
  • Work to tight tolerances using stainless, mild and carbon steels
  • Operate a range of toolroom machinery
  • Support tooling development and continuous improvement
  • Assist with tool design where required
  • Run/program wire eroders (advantageous but not essential)

Skills/attributes required by successful candidate for the role of Toolmaker:

  • Proven experience as a Toolmaker within a press tool environment
  • Strong knowledge of progression tooling and multislide machines
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Competent across a range of toolroom machinery
  • Experience with wire erosion – desirable
  • Self‑motivated, flexible and able to work in a fast‑paced environment

Location: Redditch, Worcestershire
Hours of Work: Mon to Thurs 8 am – 5 pm, Fri 8 am – 1 pm (39 hours per week)
Salary: £17 to £20 per hour (dependent upon experience)
